SONY, an industry leader in Audio has partnered with FAT-HEAD-CYCLES® to provide the most sophisticated up-grades for all Harley-Davidson® Batwing Fairing (Fork Mounted) Touring Models.

      Three “designed” Models are available to replace the “lacking and somewhat disappointing” Karmen Harden® and BOOM AUDIO® Systems in the Market since 1999 and delivered with the Turing Platform.

For Models with the BOOM AUDIO® Sony has developed the SONY7000 Head Unit (fully expandable) and has a 400-watt (100x4) Amplifier built in to its case. This is something Harley-Davidson® should have given much more thought to instead of offering upgrades such as C-B, Satellite Radio, Navigation, and the BOOM AUDIO STAGE-II which, is even more disappointing. It’s not that Radio-Sound and Karmen Harden don’t produce quality radio’s; It’s that they were built to an inferior spec provided by Harley-Davidson®

Next, SONY has also addressed the “Radio-Sound®” (1998 – 2001) and “Harmen- Cardin®” (2002 – 2013) Models. These have reoccurring problems with the LCD Displays going out and require approximately $250-$350 for repairs.

  These radio systems are “Marine Rated” meaning thier primary difference being a conformal coating on the circuit board(s) of the marine-rated offering . It's not potted and all devices/components above the board are essentially unprotected. It does offer some protection against corrosion.
